I shot this image from four hundred yards, and the compressing effect of telephoto, hides the fact that the basketball court is a good hundred yards from this childrens slide.

I don't think you have achieved an unusual angle shot here. You have created an unusual view due to the compression caused by the lens but the angle is straight on. Nothing unusual about it.
