I see that a couple of old threads have appeared here this week. This could be caused by a problem in the forum software or simply by someone browsing through older postings and making a comment. Consequently, these threads are not off topic but old threads revisited.

Anytime a new post is added to a thread, it will automatically go to the top of the threads list in a forum, regardless of when the thread was started. That's the way it's supposed to work. We don't impose a time limit on adding a new post to a thread (although it's not a great idea to bump an old thread back to the top again by adding a new post to it).

If you are seeing older threads come to the top of the threads list in a forum *without* any new posts being added to them, then we'd have a problem (and please send me a link to any threads that you see behaving that way).
