Billed as the largest 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi, the Huntington Beach even drew about 300,000 spectators. The "path" started on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and then turned onto Main Street at the pier. What's a parade without those zany Shriners?

There were a number of bands from as far away as Minnesota.

Walter,
That's a lot of Shriner's in one place. A rather unconventional interpretation of the challenge but they are certainly following the one true path in California, "El Camino Real" Aloha |

Selvin, these 2 pics were taken before some horse drawn carriages and other equestrian entries came by. At that point you could more clearly see the path. Subsequent bands and others on foot had a more challenging time -- avoiding what those horses left behind.

Walter,
Photographers are a funny lot, I've got shots of people doing the poop duty at the back of parade horses. You would think we would have something better to do.... Aloha and thanks for sharing |

Nice colors in those shots Walter,
The first one would have been a good one for the "Old Glory" Challenge Mugmar |

Hey, Selvin! I think you have just come up with an idea for a new challenge...just for you.
Nice shots, Walter, but really stepping outside the box, I think. Selvin says OK so I say OK. Cal |
