My wife & mother-in-law make the descent from daughter's new apartment near the River Tay in Perth, Scotland. The handrail wobbles badly, and is not at present attached to the ground near the bottom of the staircase. Daughter's boyfriend's mother has vertigo, and found visiting them an ordeal.

In the Pentland Hills, Edinburgh...
Son ran thoughtlessly down the eroded scar on the right; I trotted gently down the beautifully banked and graded green path, minimising the wear and tear on my suspect feet; and Daughter sedately strolled after me, while Son itched to get on to the next objective. |

Great work, Alan. Your photography may be as close as I ever get to the UK.

Great shots, Alan. The second one makes me want to visit, but I think I'll give those stairs a pass.

Thanks, folks. Edinburgh is one of the prime locations for N.American visitors, because of the enormous number of Scottish descendants over the pond. We were there for my daughter's graduation as a doctor. There's a panorama of the city taken moments later from near the spot in shot #2 above at........

Nice images, Alan. I'll take a shot from the bottom of the first one. I'm with your daughter's boyfriend's mother.
