Young kids make some of the best portraiture but as many of us can attest, they are a bear to keep still long enough for composition, lighting, etc. This is expecially true if you are trying to avoid the "studio" look and desire a more candid shot.
After untold shots this is one of the better candids of my grandkids, A quiet moment (almost) and no "hamming" for the camera etc. ![]() |

This is the perfect time for the right angle lens. The kids would be intently watching you while you take their picture at leisure. The results are usually amazing and completely natural.

Hello Selvin,
I like the skin-tones and that "something else got their attention" feeling. |

Very cute grandchildren, Selvin!
You are a doting grand-dad I believe!... I also like the natural feeling to this candid, and the interesting pose / position (looking out of the frame). Well done. Paul |

Bynx,
Interesting thoought about use of a right angle lens. My mind was always locked into believing it's greatest value was in street photography. Your comment opens a new world. Aloha |

Thkn, and Pj1974,
Thanks for your kind comments. I was aiming for the off frame composition. They just didn't turn away in the middle of the shoot. I find the Sony A100 to be fairl accurate in rendering skin tones. Aloha |
