Seasonal Change -- Grape Picking
1 Attachment(s)
The finest grapes are picked at night, usually by guys with mustaches who are under 5 1/2 feet tall. Dont ask me why. And its done at the peak of perfection which is in the late autumn. Any grapes left after that are picked for the expensive elite Ice Wine.

Velly interesting. Never thought about seasonal changes in this manner.
I've had the ice-wine several times and it's different but a bit sweet.

Nice shot of the Grapes. Never heard of Grapes being picked at night, then again I don't pick Grapes.

Did you notice all the grape pickers were under 5 1/2 feet tall and had moustaches? Both men and women!

Coincidence?? I think not. However, some of those women look like they've been growing their moustaches all their lives.

;) I bet that bunch of grapes was much more fuller when you started your photosession, Bynx. However, as the different exposures trickled in, your appetite was challenged by those juicy grapes and you couldn't resist!

Admit it, Bynx - the evidence is right there on the picture....:p

And BTW - these are not vine-grapes but eating-grapes. There is a differenc, you know. And I do not belive your story of the grapes beeing harvested at night (why should they?), neither the tale about the mustached, but short, men and woman....

He is pulling our legs!

Walter S,
The grapes for ice wine are generally picked at night. Don't know exactly why maybe to hide the faces of the bearded female pickers (just joking). I suppose this not only guarantees the frozen state of the grapes but also enhances the flavor(?).

I was told tbis many years ago and recently checked it out on Wikipaedia.

Hey this means you. Stop reading.
Youre right Walter. These are just some grapes I bought to eat. And there were a lot of them eaten before I thought to shoot the bunch. The story about short moustached pickers came later. Sometimes I get carried away. Ive been warned the next time they carry me away they will throw away the key.
