Yeah, I guess the thing is that the back ground was pretty much already B&W from the water. Any suggestions on how to make the kayak "pop" even more?

You cant make it pop any more unless you paint it with fluorescent colors.

Nice picture, I had a little try at making the kayak pop, mainly by bumping up the contrast but it may be a bit heavy handed.
