I decided I'd try the extremes of my possible settings, and these are at full 12x zoom, f=70mm (396mm equiv),1/256s, f/4.8 (wide open), ISO64. The tree is just across the road from the bedroom window, the gorse bushes are a couple of hundred metres away, and the factories on the skyline are about 15 miles away.

...and far. I took many shots, some better than these, but this was the only pair where the lighting matched, as clouds kept scudding across the sun.

Hi Alan
It's great you shared these perspectives with us, also employing the full extreme zoom of your camera. Thanks! I admire your persistence in getting the lighting the same... and can just imagine those English clouds scurrying across the sun's path. The green (moss / lichen?) on the tree gives an interesting effect. Thanks again. Paul |
