I shot this little fella last week in my back yard. As you can see, the background is totally out of focus.

Great shot. I am glad the little critter stopped and posed for you. Squirrels can be two-faced. Sometimes they are very friendly toward people while at other times they'll run at the slightest movement.
Your lighting and composition are great. I can't tell how great the depth of field is but it is obviously adequate for this shot. Vanessa wanted short DOF but if it got any shorter, this beautiful shot wouldn't be possible. Cal |

Cute. I love his little round nose. But, those nails look like they could tear you to shreds if he wanted to.

Hi bigchuck
Very cute little guy... and lovely photos (both are so sharp and yes, lovely diffused out of focus background). Is "Roof rat" another word for squirrel? We don't have these in Austarlia, but I saw a number of squirrels when I lived in the UK. What camera / lens did you use? Thanks for sharing. Paul |

I call squirrels "roof rats" cause thats all they are if you ask me. Cute little rats, with a fuzzy tail.
I shot that with my Canon 5D, Canon 400mm f/5.6 and Canon 580 flash ~BC~ pj1974 wrote: Quote:
