Here is another moon shot taken during twilight just before darkness set in. Hence the color cast in the photo. The second shot was taken with the same settings about 30-40 minutes later when the sky was much darker.
Thanks for looking, Steve Last edited by smac; Jan 30, 2014 at 12:04 PM. |

Both shots were taken at f/8 and 1/250sec ISO 400.

Steve's & Walter's wonderfully sharp, glowing, floating, quasi-3D images make me yearn fora big fat sensor and lenses, and a big, fat telescope. But even if it weren't for the money, I fear I couldn't store them or carry them about easily!
I watched the excellent and moving documentary feature film of elderly astronaut reminiscences, 'In The Shadow Of The Moon', on TV only a week or two ago, with many images like those (only closer). I must drag my friend & his telescope out from central Chester, here to our frequently dark skies. It could be done... |

Thanks Alan,
I know what you mean. I have an 8" Clestron Newtonian telescope and it's quite a chore to haul it out to viewing sites. The view is spectacular though. I just purchased a T-mount so that I can attach my D300 to the telescope. I am trying to muster up the energy to haul it out and give it a try. Rest assured that when I do I will post the pics.
