Dennis, Both shots are very cool. Is that the true color in the first shot. I really like the golden cast. Great detail as well. Nice shooting.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Steve.

We've got alot of humidity back in the atmosphere again and some lingering high level smoke from some brush fires the last couple of months. That plus the fact this about 20 minutes from moonset is the reason for the coloration. We have yelow moons here on rise and set pretty often.

Very nice. I like them both.

Good control of long exposure time.

Mugmar Jun 10, 2008 8:12 AM

Very cool:cool:. The second one looks like a poster.

Great shots. I can almost see the moon in the second shot. I wish the weather would cooperate here so I could see the moon!

NotDadsW41 Jun 10, 2008 9:25 PM

Both are excellent. I really am drawn to the 2nd though.

nhmom Jun 10, 2008 10:46 PM

Very nice, Dennis. I really like the 2nd one. It's outstanding.

p.s. I just sent you a PM re: the Pentax board.

Great capture in both shots.

Wow, a 500 mm lens and nicely in focus. can't imagine what tripod you're using.

Thanks for looking and Commenting ya'll!

Cal, the larger body in the pic IS the moon!

Thanks NotDads. Is that a reference to an Oldsmoblie?

Thanks Patty! I got your PM.

Thanks StitchBabe!

Thanks Selvin. I'm using an Amvona 858B Tripod and a Benro KS-1 ballhead. I also used mirror lock up on the 2 second shuttertimer.
