Fantastic images, Walter. We don't need a telescope when we've got you! I should love to see an educational image of your setup, when you're about to launch a moonshot.
Actually I realise that big zoom lenses, even a modest 400mm equiv, are telescopes. Since getting my superzoom, with image stabilisation, a year ago, I have found things in the view from my own home that I didn't know were visible from here, discovered after living here for over 25 years. Before digicams, I had a Tamron 80-210mm and 2x adapter for my OM-10, giving excellent quality, but impossible to hold still. I only ever used them seriously for the total solar eclipse in 1999, using the inverted table and table leg from my camper van as a 'tripod'.
