Just took this with a new 300mm lens that is not as sharp as it should be. hopefully I shall get it exchanged. What do you think?

Somehow it looks like a picture of a picture instead of the actual moon itself. Somewhat flat with no 3 dimensional depth to it. Perhaps the problem is the moon is full. Best 3D definition is always along the shadow line.

Is this any better? i just shot it and it is daylight. For some reason it still looks like night. I must have changed a setting somewhere but it looks better, I think.
