I'm not going to be shooting any silhouettes today. My part of Southwest Arkansas is in the grip of ice and roads are listed as treacherous. So, I'll have to use my archive shot for tis challenge, one I took early one morning in 2007.

Nice moody shot. Hope you dont mind but I cleaned it up. Looks like it was originally a slide with lots of dust and scratches. Then I thought the main elements could stand on their own. What do you think?

As Bynx noted the mood is superb. I'mnot a fan of the tighter cropping. Personally I prefer the first since it gives the subjects breathing room as well as gives a nice perspective and context.

I really prefer original orientation. I wanted to capture the full feel of the river and the fog. Paul |

There are parallel lines visible in the trees which are black which means scratches in a negative. They go into the sky area as well. I thought they might be hydro lines that you quickly removed from the light sky area. Still not sure whats going on there. The only reason I cropped was to show more emphasis on silhouette areas (the dock, fishermen and tree leaves overhead). Your original is ideal for a really nice moody day on the river.

I don't see any "parallel lines" in the trees in the first shot. I didn't notice the dust spec by the left bridge support until Paul (Bynx) mentioned it.
Paul (Trojansoc) I think this is an outstanding shot as you posted it. I don't care for the edited/cropped version. The crop removes too much that contributes to the original image. Cal |
