Don't know the history but it's been there a while.

Paniolo, where is this puzzling artifact?
An obvious mystery to be sure and certainly one of a doomed ship. Aloha |

Selvin, it is at the Sand Island small boat ramp (last right turn before the bridge). Took a pic of a fisherman landing a large papio - I printed it for him and when dropping it off, I saw this. When I asked the fisherman about it, he indicated that it was not recent and did not know the details. I know nothing about sailboats, but thought that they had a keel and would not stay upright, but what do I know?
Mahalo for the look. |

It almost looks like a sculpture, but I'm sure there is more to it than that.

Thanks for the comments!
Mugmar, actually Gilligan's island (the island that you see in the opening scene) is on the other side of the island, not far from where I live. I think he still lives there, lol. |

Nice shot! I wonder what the story behind it is, or rather, why it is still there...

mike 1, I checked the archives of the local paper and could not find any reference to the yacht. Seems like a waste - don't think it is too hard to float and salvage it.

I dont think its a yacht. I think its high intensity tv antennas for getting the underwater channels and old episodes of Hawaii 5-O.
