A shot of a church through a lens I am testing.
Now on another point. Since a fair number of people look at these threads I have just received 1000 black and white photos from the American Civil War. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of them please PM me and I will inform you how it can be done. There is also a text file giving a comment about each photo. Quite an amazing collection of spontaneous shots as well as studio portraits of such people as Lee, Grant etc. Im sure many of these are by Matthew Brady. I dont now how to find out who the photographer is in these but its worth a shot trying to find out. |

It looks like you zoomed out to maximum wide angle and had a sunshade mounted. Again, this is kinda pushing things a bit. Since the aperture is attached to your camera it makes for an interesting shot but not quit what I had in mind. For one thing, it doesn't show what the object is that contains the aperture.

The reason for the composition of the shot is that I was focusing on the cross. I just received a 2X telephoto lens which screws on the fixed lens like a filter. By zooming in on the cross I was able to keep it in the center to see the difference between using the tele and without it.

How do you like the 2x converter? Do you lose much light with it? Just curious. We just went on a trip to the smoky Mountains and borrowed a 400mm lens plus a 2x converter. With the converter, we lost 2 stops.

I wish fstops was all I lost. But the image quality was pretty poor. With the 2x telephoto attached the image was fairly out of focus. See examples in the fujifilm fuji S700 thread.
