Nice photos, but I don't envy you the white stuff. I really like the red traffic light reflecting off the falling snow in the first shot.

Thanks Paul! I hope you folks didn't get any of that ice from this storm!

Your first shot has very interesting lighting. As noted, the red lights reflecting off the moisture on the windshield and the landing spot of your headlights on the road ahead. Your exposure is spot on. Your second shot is ugly ugly ugly. I hate snow. Can you believe that, I live in Canada and I hate snow. Id be willing to trade Canada for Southern California and Florida. Any takers?

Bob,
The lighting effect is really eye-catching in the first shot but I find the second shot mesmerizing. I'm looking at it thinking, there's an paw of a snow sphinx supine on your pinic table. How did you do that! I'm impressed by your ability to capture the second shot so clearly thru what must be a fogged-up window. Cheers and thank for sharing. |

Thanks folks! Selvin, I never noticed those paws until you pointed them out, nature sure does amazing things.

It's time to play catch up! My new computer is doing well though there is still a bit more work to do.
That early morning street scene reminds me of Idaho Falls in southeast Idaho where I lived for 17 years. The normal winter condition there was packed snow with not too much ice. Nobody, myself included, used or needed chains. Most people had snow tires and a few had studs. The key was you quickly learned how to drive in these conditions and very few people (newcomers!) had problems. The patio table shot reminds me of a shot I posted last year where a plastic chaise lounge collected a couple inches of snow and for a brief period (a couple hours) produced an interesting pattern. Great photos. Cal |
