This was my view this morning as I was ironing my shirt/pants getting ready for church. The branches in the view are hideous I know. But the colors are what really grabbed my attention this morning and made me run for the camera.

I think the branches add a clarity and deph to your shot. There might be too many branches but to me, they help make the picture as good as it is.

I agree with Bynx. The branches are definitely a part of defining the field of the shot and drawing your eyes to the contrasting colors. Nicely shot.

Unusual sky. Nicely composed.

Really guys? I can't stand the branches. My wife loved this picture. I loved the colors, hate the branches and think they ruined it...
If I had the time and it wasn't so blasted cold, I would have ran out into the field there to get past the branches and everything to get a silhouette of farm to my east. |

I, also, think the silhuetted trees and branches make the shot. That pattern in the sky, especially that vertical column of red, is amazing. Do you have any idea what caused that effect?

I do not know Calr. It's been cold here in the mornings, 10-20*F. I have seen this effect on many occasions. In fact, I have it in another picture from a morning sunrise photo I took of my grand parents barns several weeks ago. It's not as well defined though.
I took this one on the day of my uncle's funeral last month. You can see the same column of light in it. This photo was taken about 60 miles south of m home though. ![]() |
