In Germany, the four weeks of Advent most towns large and small hold a Christmas market. The smaller towns only a few days during this time, but the larger cities have them for most of the four week period. One of the best parts, besides all the shopping, is the food and Gluehwein. (hot spice wine) After being out in the cold it really warms up your insides
![]() Even though we are not in Germany anymore, the smell and taste of this hot wine is a constant reminder of Christmas. Mugmar |

If you cannot find it ready made in a bottle such as shown in the picture, let us know and we'll send you a recipe.

Mugmar,
Hot wine! At first it sounds like an abomination. But there are a lot of folks around the globe that take their adult beverages on the warm or at least room temperature side. I guess hot cider qualifies on this side of the pond. By the way, nice picture. The Japanese drink warm sake, the english also like warm beer and ale/stout. |

OK, call me different. I like warm cheese--not melted. I'm not a conneseur of alcohol so this drink doesn't interest me much. It is a nice photo, however.

Ah
![]() My wife found it, I should have asked her earlier .... This is "Gluehwein Spice", packed in tea-bags and sold in bunches of 5 or 10. Buy a bottle of red wine, heat it together withone of those bags, that's it. Pretty easy, isn't it? Regards, Th. P.S. Sorry for hijcking the thread, but I thought this might be interesting to know. |
