I wasn't going to post this pic but.
Anytime my family gets together this snack is there. My Aunt made the best nuts and bolts ever. She is no longer with us but she left us her recipe. I have been making it for years but they still are not as good as hers. ~BC~ |

The Bynx method for eating nuts n bolts is the cashews first, followed by the pretzel sticks, the shreddies and finally the cheerios. They do look good enough to eat, thanks BC.

I've never heard of this snack being called "Nuts and Bolts". My mother made this concoction when I was a kid and it was called simply "Chex Party Mix". Today, you can get packages with all the dry ingredients in one package. All you have to add is butter, some spices, and (I think) some molasses. It was great when I was a kid and is still great.
Thanks for the great photo. Cal |

BigChuck,
The composition and photo is very nicely done! This mix is quite popular here especially during this time of the year. Unfortunately most people buy the store bought rather then make their own. It's a pretty pricey mix $10 for a small bag of the stuff. You see it a lot at Japanese New Year's feasts. Aloha and thanks for sharing. |

Nice presentation. The decorations around the bowl and the green table cloth set a nice Christmas mood.

Nice shot, we call that the traditional holiday work snack as it is always brought into work by someone during the holidays. Of course they usually just bring it in a zip lock baggie which doesn't have the same wonderful appeal your setting shows.
