There is a special kind of fried sausage (I am even allowed to use the word "Bratwurst" here, it's also common and used in everyday language in USA and UK, right?) called "Schlope".
What's so special? It is made from pork and the stuffing is quite squashy (which is somewhat unusual). Now "squashy" translates into "schlopig" in the special (ancient) german dialect that is (or was) spoken in and around my home town. Hence the sausage got that name: "Schlope". The area in the city, where I live, was formerly a village (whichbecame part of the city as both grew together), but we have our own Christmas Market on one weekend in December and this is one of the rare events where such huge amounts of that sausage can be seen and will be eaten. Enjoy, Th. |

That looks enticing. Tough conditions to shoot from with so much lighting contrasts.
Just about every country has some grilling for the holidays. In Japan it's a bit weird to see them grillng whole squid and octopus but after a while the whole thing looks normal just like grilling fish or sausages. Thanks for sharing. Aloha |

I love Bratwurst so if that sausage is similar, I think I would like it too!
Have a happy holiday season. Cal |
