In about a month or so, we will have a challenge on infrared BW photography. If you don't already have an infrared filter, now is the time to consider purchasing one. However, infrared filters will not work with all digital cameras. Some cameras have a filter built into the sensor to block infrared light. You need to find out if your camera fits this category. If so, don't waste your money.
If you can't use an infrared filter or don't want to purchase one, take a good look at your photo editor and see if it has an infrared software filter or script. I use Paint Shop Pro X and the infrared filter therein does a surprisingly good job. I hope to see as many people participate as can or want to. Infrared BW can yield some spectacular and beautiful images. Cal |
