Nice balloon shots, Bill. Did you get any sunburn from the burners? Those things really put out a lot of heat.

No, I didn't get sunburned but it's scary how far that flame shoots into the baloon and how close it is to the fabric. I have some other shots that I underexposed where almost all you can see is the flame and there are fireballs half way to the top of the balloon.

And to think that some of the larger balloons have two burners! Ouch. From what I understand, the temperature at the top of the balloon envelope is around 270° F. Human skin burns at about 150° F. That fabric is very strong and fireproof.

It is hard to believe that the first hot-air balloons (Mongolfier Brothers) were made of paper!

Great shots. I had the chance to go up in a hot air balloonseveral years ago.What afun experience that was. It's fascinating how maneuverable those things are.
