We've had rain, snow, clouds and bright sun. So here's an old fog picture I took in 2008. I've always liked it for some reason.

Thanks! Though the more I look at it now, the more I wonder if I shouldn't have cropped it differently, to simplify it more (crop some off the right side to remove the second building, then perhaps the freeway guardrail on the bottom and maybe a bit off the top? Or maybe not off the top, you do get a hint of the high mountain beyond the small valley/wide canyon).

I like your shot a lot but I do agree with your thoughts re cropping from the right with result just showing the one building but then you are in danger of losing some of trees which also adds to the shot.
Anyway, I like it as it is,... very much.

Great picture. I always find fog and bad weather difficult. The lack of contrast makes you focus on form and composition, and many of mine fail the test. Yours are pretty compelling in this image IMHO. I like your cropping idea though - just a bit off the right and bottom would lead the eye more towards the horses and make it a bit more balanced - easy enough to try out. :-)

It's a terrific shot. I agree with your cropping thoughts, and would be tempted to try to remove the telephone wire if possible.

I like the photo..and think it would benefit from the crops you (and others) have suggested- I particularly found the dark (slightly sloping) bottom of the photo distracting. The fog has such an unusual property to it... almost like 'brighter day' fog! Thanks for sharing. The horses and details in the photo really 'make it'! Paul |
