Hose reel at Three Mile Island:

Nice job. I wish my hoses were that clean!
Normally, it is not good to have your subject centered in the photo but it works great in this case. Now, you need just a bit more Ivy on the left side to balance the photo! Cal |
Wow! You snuck that second shot in while I was posting my reply. I really don't care for the second shot. Negative images are fun to play with and to use as part of other conversion techniques but, in my opinion, they don't work by themselves.

Thanks for your comments and advice on the first photo, Cal. Yes, this hose has a bunch of patches/splices, but it certainly is clean!
I don't really care for the second shot, either. It was merely an "attempt" at humor on my part. Mike |
The second one could be a "what is this" as the color change makes it not easily identified.
Like the idea of the first one. Patty |
I like the composition on the first one...so much to look at.

Thanks, Patty. Yes, that effect on picture #2 is pretty strange. A few months ago I took a picture of our almost full kitchen trash container and applied that effect. It reminded me of this old Saturday Night Live skit of a family that worked at and lived near a nuclear power plant. They turned out the light in the room and everyone was glowing.
Thanks, vsch1. This hose reel is actually mounted outside of my living room. Since I do some of the caretaking on this building, I spent about an hour the other day ripping away ivy from my windows on that side of the building. Mike |
and so neatly wound also:D
Cool shot Mugmar |
Nice shot. I have one of those in my garage, very handy.
