Cal's 'accidental rose' photo reminded me of something that happened to me.
What follows is a photo of my daughter taken with a Yashica Mat 124 film camera on Christmas morning in 1981. In and of itself, it's not remarkable. Just a typical candid of a happy child opening her presents. ![]() What is special to me is that the following week, I needed to go to the hospital and have surgery. I was quite ill and the recuperation period was extensive. The camera and exposed roll of film were forgotten and sat idle in my closet until I decided to sell the camera in 2008. In the process of cleaning up the camera readying it for sale, I discovered that there was an exposed roll of film. I had no idea what was on the roll of film and decided to send it off to see if it could be processed. The roll of film had 24 exposure 19 of which were salvaged. This was one of them. Zig
