This time my apologies to Mr. da Vinci
But there have been a few things written with a can of spray paint. |

When I think of spray paint cans as related to writing, I think immediately of graffiti and then I get mad. Too much of our landscape is covered with spray-painted garbage.

But its writing nonetheless. I just wish I could catch some guy in the middle of it. With my camera. Flash, and Im off to the cops. Its about time they paid for their crime with some cash and community service.

Bynx,
Very inetresting take on writing instrument but you're right the cans do seem to serve as the number 1 insturment of choice for graffiti freaks. I totally agree with you abou the cash and community service. The #@$%^# graffiti folks are a blight. Aloha |

I think of spray cans more for art than writing. When I used film, I often sprayed my images with all sorts of colors, mostly metalics.

I find the majority of graffiti is lettering, artsy fartsy but lettering. Its either some punk gang marking their territory or some jerk with a bit of spare time making a name for himself.

I have seen some spray paint art that is very creative. In some cities, the owners of buildings let the local kids design and paint the side of their building in a creative way. It looks nice and keeps the kids from messing up public places that should not be "tagged"
I'm for all forms of art, but when it comes to destroying property such as in Bynx's picture above, well I can't say what I'm thinking on this forum ![]() |
