Zoom & Walk, Front Yard

1 Attachment(s)
Due to some family issues, I am not able to get out, with a camera currently. So I just used my yard.
My "portal" is the gap in the two center trees.
Starting point approx. 40 feet (because there was a crack in the driveway there, easy to restart point).
Pentax Kit lens, 18mm

An interesting selection. Did you notice how the trees "moved" within the frame? I had that happen with one of my locations also. And your selection does a better job than mine did about accenting how much more you see when you get closer. I think this is much more what the challenge is supposed to be about, rather than the significant perspective changes due to relative distances that my example showed.

I am thinking it depends on your perspective on the walking part.
I used the basketball goal and a tree as reference points when zoomed, and walked up to match that. And yes the perspective was different.
But the distant objects were not at the same magnification either.
So I guess it depends if you are using FOV or Magnification to determine yoou walking zoom factor.
