Taken from my back yard with my new Canon 30D and showing the effects of some defuse lighting looking east as the day star sets in the west..... :-)

Beautiful shot. Very calm and peaceful. However, I'm not sure it is what Selvin is looking for. You have shown the "Golden Hour" very well but I think he wants to see the sky where the sun is about to set or just after it has set. In this shot, the sun is behind you. It's Selvin's call.

Indycar,
I should shoulder some of the responsibility for this faux pas since I had not originally intended shots taken east while the sun was setting in the west. I did state, "Obviously the sun does not have to be visible in your shot but the shot should show that the sun is just about to set or dusk has arrived." Since I did not specifically rule out the western sky, this shot qualifies. With all that said, lovely scenario. The peacefulness really tugs at my hearstrings. Aloha |

It is a great shot for sure. I particularly like the DoF with everything in focus. The warm orange color projected by the sun indicates that the day was about to end.
