My first thought was garlic. But, it seems to have a lot of covering. You got me.

Kita Dec 7, 2006 11:47 AM

I would recommend sticking with your "first thought"! They are often "priceless!":-)

nhmom Dec 7, 2006 7:14 PM

Okay. Sticking with my first thought. ;)

Is this some kind of special garlic then? The garlic I can buy here doesn't seem to have that much covering it.

NH Mom -

I don't think it's special...although this is SoCal...so maybe. This is the tip of a whole bunch (?) of garlic.,, not just one clove, so maybe that's what's throwing you off.

Nobody else even got very close, (well maybe the onion guess). So, congratulations!

I was born and raised in southern CA, so not sure why it looks too layered. Maybe I've lived in New England too long (18 years) and have forgotten. But, I was just in CA in August. :O

I'll have to get a piece of garlic from here and photograph it. But, will have to be tomorrow night.

By the way, it would be a "bulb" of garlic.
