Beautifull shots....
I'm wondering if those 4 stone balls, suspended above the garland, are weapons to be used against unwanted visitors, at the descression of the occupants:-) |

Nice closeup of the stone carving. As you say, the wide shot is not too interesting but it gives perspective to the closeup.
As for the four stone balls, if you got hit on the head by one or more of those, I think you'd have a nasty headache for a couple days. I suppose they could have some kind of cord to pull to release them! :-? Cal |

The three balls on the right almost look like large tennis balls painted over.:-) But, I wouldn't want to get hit by any.

NHMOM, you are right! They look exactly like tennis balls including the seam lines and fuzz! I wonder if that was a light fixture at one time and they plugged the holes with tennis balls and painted them!
