2 pictures of my house, built in 1912. The first photo was taken in 1929, and was found while we were researching the house through the local archives. By sheer coincidence, this photo waspart of a collection from a local photographer that was donated to the archives. A slightlycropped version now hangs proudlyin my living room. The second photo was taken today, with less than ideal lighting.Unfortunately, due to a large spruce tree and new house (1939) on the right side, I cannot duplicate the original photo.

p.s. the original photo is not actually tilted that much to the left. This is a poor scan. The copy I have is much straighter.

It is great to have these photos to document your house. It appears that some significant remodeling was done since it was originally built. I am surprised the closed in porch was not preserved.

Thanks for looking Cal. Restoring the front porch, along with the interior woodwork, is part of my long-term plans for the house. It is unfortunate that the previous owner modernized the house as much as he did, but the quality of the renovations and the location still made it a good buy. Luckily there are enough similar houses in the area that I have plenty of reference material.
