i chose a vertical format for this shot because of the upswept curve of the branches make the blooms look almost like part of a candelabra. the vertical alignment of the blooms and the diagonal separation between them place them squarely at the "trojan points", in opposite-corner thirds of the image.the overall composition reminds of a Japanese watercolor...

One of the most beautiful blooming trees I have ever seen, I call it the tulip tree because when its buds start to open, they look like tulips.

This is an excellent photo for the reasons cited by squirl. He was tooting his own horn but he is correct.

The dual buds clealrly advance this composition to another higher level.

Like you pussywillow shot, the detail are superb.

I think I have seen this image some time back,mey be at Close up forum. I like this image that time and I still like them :-):-)
