OK, My daughter took this one of herself. So why a not so good portrait (how ever I can't say it is any worse than mine :-) ). I was scrolling through my photo album and had a whole bunch of these she took of herself in that "dark and ominous" mood most likely for her MySpace page or Email to her friends or what ever teenagers do. As I was scrolling through, this ONE caught my eye. Focus a little soft, background bad, other issues, but I liked the way the lighting played across her. Most of the portraits I have seen posted, seem evenly lite, so I was wondering if lighting can play into the whole thing.

I agree, the lighting works well and if it wasn't for the fact that she was probably closer to the camera than its minimum focal distance (thus the softness), it would have been a great portrait.

Very nice. I think the soft focus works, here.
