My wife and I spent the past 4 days in Lake Tahoe, as guests of my daughter and her husband. It was our anniversary! Sunday we cruised around the lake for four hours with my son-in-law at the controls. Here they are as we were idling in one of the coves.

Nicely done, Walter. The last time I saw the waters of Lake Tahoe, was in a plane piloted by me. If you've never seen Taho from the air, you don't know what you're missing. It's like a giant blue/green flower.

Nice shot, Walter! It sounds like you celebrated your anniversary in style! I love Tahoe this time of the year. The weather is pristine, bright blue sky, warm daysand the crystal clear (and very cold)water has a deep blue/green tone to it. I've flown over Tahoe but at 30,000 feet coming back from Seattle.
Cal, did you actually lend at the South Lake Tahoe airport or you just flew over? |

I landed at the South Tahoe airport once when my instructor was teaching me the finer art of mountain flying. We didn't fly over the lake on that trip. Later on a flight from Sacramento to Idaho Falls, ID, I flew up the canyon and over the Tahoe airport and then out to the middle of the lake. I then turned east toward Reno and continued my flight to Idaho.

It sounds like a nice, fun flight you had, Cal. Flying over Tahoe like that must be something else. I've been to Heavenly many times and the view from up there is simply spectacular!

Cal
We saw this old bird land about 100 yards from our boat on Sunday. My son thought it was a German seaplane from the 1930's. It landed near the waterfront mansion owned by the family that owns one of the big casinos. |

Congratulations on your anniversary. What a great way to spend it! Nice shot of your daughter and her husband. That seaplane shot is fascinating. Thanks for sharing. |

Walter a classic shot. Very nice panning job. A very picky point. watch out for the tilting horizon.
