Welcome to the forum. I hope you like what you find here and will visit us often in the future.

This photo has a number of problems. The depth of field is very shallow which causes most of the photo to be out of focus. Second, only one pumpkinis in focus and it is at the edge of the photo. Third, the pumpkin that is in focus on the left has some major blemishes facing the camera.

I think a different shooting angle placing the foreground pumpkins in a better position (rule of thirds) with the background pumpkins more balanced. You need to use a smaller aperture (f8 or greater) and slower shutter speed to improve DOF. If you use aperture priority or shifted program mode, set the aperture value and let the computer set the shutter speed. This will probably result in a shutter speed that is too slow for hand held. If the shutter speed is less than the focal length of the lens use a tripod. In other words, if your focal length is 100mm, a shutter speed less than 1/100th dictates the use of a tripod. For 50mm, the minimum would be 1/50th of a second.

Thank you for sharing with us. We are all here not just to show our handiwork but, more important, to learn.

I really love the lighting here...adds a whole new dimension to the shot. Great DOF too!
