I like both shots. I can never remember if the clock is nicknamed "Big Ben" or if it is the tower. I think I remember that it is the clock that bears the name in which case the song "Winchester Cathedral" has it wrong with phrase "the Tower Big Ben...".

Actually we are both wrong Cal. Big Ben is the bell which rings out the hour. And its the tower OF Big Ben in the song. The clock is actually something else altogether. Thanks for making me look it up.

Here's some additional trivia, during WWII the BBC used to broadcast the chimes of Big Ben to annouce each hour. That was until they discovered that the Geermans were able to use the sound of Big Ben to help figure out the weather over London. After that recordings were used.

Good job on additional trivia. Nope I didnt scan the pics I just shot a couple of old photos with my digital camera. Its a lot quicker but not as accurate I think.
