Not being a card player, all I can suggest is "Aces High" (1976), from R.C.Sherriff'sFirst World War novel "Journey's End".

You're a bit off target Alan, the cards shown help to identify the movie.

I think the key is knowing the game that is being played. Is it Baccarat? If it is then my guess is Casina Royale.

Well if it's what I know as 'pontoon', the hand on the right is a potential winner. So is it maybe 'Vingt-et-un", "Twenty-one", or "Blackjack"? Don't know & can't find any movies of that name, though. I suddenly discover I do know about one thing about cards.

The clue of course is the winning combo on the right of "21" or blackjack.
There are actually a few movies with the name blackjack and they have all been relegated to "B" grade movies. Actually Mugmar I liked your suggestion, "The Gambler" most of all, next time I'll include more props (chips, drnkis etc) to really bring across the gambling nuance. Bynx, Casino Royale came to mind afterwards but I don't know the Bacarrat rules so didn't dare enter that domain. Aloha folks and thanks for participating. |

If Im not mistaken face cards are 0 and all other cards are face value. The object is to get your cards to total 9. Hence the 9 in your picture would beat the 11 drawn on the right. Just my interpretation. There are better ways to get a Bond movie title across Im sure.

K, 8, 3 is not a Blackjack. It totals 21 but is three cards. A Blackjack is two cards, a face card or 10 and an ace. A Blackjack beats any other combination of cards totaling 21.

Cal,
You're correct. The cards were actually meant to be exemplary of a possible winning hand in the game of "Blackjack", I may have mislead individuals. But you are correct under the stricter rules formulated by some casinos two card totalling 21 are called either a "natural" or "blackjack" and may accrue special payouts. Aloha |
