Driving to work on a cold morning, I had to stop to grab a photo of the sunrise.
South suburban Chicago, Illinois ![]() The second shot was taken hand-held while walking along the beach in Treasure Island, Florida. It took about 6 attempts to capture the lightning which seemed to occur about every 12 seconds, so I just counted to 12 and snapped until I got one! Storms are common over Tampa, this one produced lots of lightning but no rain (for us anyway). Tampa is the lightning capital of the world I've been told. ![]() |

WOW that first shot is fantastic. The reds remind me of a lava flow.
