This is a little different from other entries and I hope it fits.
This is the theater back in Sept. 2007. The glass has remained intact for nearly fifteen years. ![]() This is it from a month ago. Vandals have finally broke the glass down and tore out the entire metal structure of the walkway. ![]() ![]() |

I agree that the first shot is beautiful with the sunset reflected in the windows. However with only one year difference between the shots I am not sure this qualifies. Selvin stated that he wanted ten years difference.
With such a beautiful building, why did the theater close down? Did it have only one screen and not able to compete with the megaplex theaters? That seems to be the demise of a lot of older single-screen theaters. All the new theaters being built in the Portland area have a least ten screens! You buy your ticket an present it at the door but it appears that nothing prevents you from going into any movie that is playing. Cal |

Okay, calr didn't know or not.
The theater was actually ahead of its time when built in 1965.It had five big screens inside it, four small ones and one super screen. It was doing really good till the early nineties and the mall across from it went into decline. Sadly, three years ago the mall was closed down then demolished for a super retail store. |

Alphie,
A sad state of affairs that is oft repeated throughout our nation. Technically the rules do specify 10-years but what the heck this is the last submission so you're granted an exemption. Great capture of the reflections. Aloha |
