Nevertheless, it's1/256s, f/5.7 (I was tripodless, puffing and panting so none too steady), and it looks just as sharp overall as the similar ones I tried at f/8, and the shot below with closer detail at 1/323s, f/5.7. This demonstrates, perhaps, the DoF advantage of smaller equipment, alongside weight & cost, but at the price of usually lower overall quality. I've used this before in the 'Landscape Photos' forum. I have fresh shots in mind for today, if & when the sun comes out. It's expected briefly, after days of unmitigated heavy overcast. Also the same idea here as Bynx's 'going for the paper' pathway shot, I recall. |

Both shots are beautiful and both have great DOF. I guess that proves that it doesn't matter how you get good DOF, it is the result that counts.
Personally, I think the first photo should be captioned "Stairway to Hope". That's what it says to me. Cal |

Yes I agree with Calr..the first one is Stairway to Hope. The second shot is the climb to Crosby. You can call the two shots Hope and Crosby or Bob and Bing for short but not for long. :blah:

Well, both the steps and the cliff can accurately be described as 'The Road to Raw Head', and those two gentshad a few of those in their time due to knockabout and to potent beverages.
