This kid did the post time announcement for each race today.

I can hear the sound but I thought they used a bugle to sound post time. That's a trumpet.

Good shot!

Good use of dof, Bynx

Those 2 horse & riders give it a lot more impact than 1 would have.

And that 'concentrating' yet looking away look on the player's face is powerful too.

TA DAH!!!

Thanks Paul. And for anyone who gets the chance to spend the day at the track I recommend it. There are 10 races, so 10 repetitive cycles of exactly the same thing so some expected things happen. The only thing that changes is when you click the shutter.

Did you win any money?

It's hard to find good bugles. I think smaller tracks just take what they can get. A bugle is just a trumpet without valves anyway... and I'm sure the call to the post is just played with partials just like you would on a bugle.

But it's really cool when the horn player has one of those ridiculously long bugles and wears a top hat and tails. I digress...

Great, GREAT shot.

Believe it or not, this shot got me first place in the local town photo contest. First place for My Ajax. This is the second year in a row taking first in the same category.
