Default Signage - which way???

I found this when I traveled to NY once. It always make me smile.

I would have to stop and think about that sign for a while, if I wasn't sure where I was going! I suppose that was the only sign at an intersection and I would see it when I was in the wrong lane to do anything about the turn. The nice thing about navigation devices, at least they give you some warning most of the time. It may not be right, but at least they warn you.

The opposite of "you can't get there from here". A good chuckle :-)

I guess it depends on what's important at the time, directions? a hospital? or food.
