That's an interesting photo except for the stray reflections. However, the circles here (there are many) are only visible from above the eggs. In the photo, the circles are implied.

I ask for Vanessa and Selvin to give their opinion. I suppose this could be thinking outside the box!

Ya, I suppose the PIX might better be called stripes.

Now a real trick with this would have been to not have reflections (ie, even lighting and a bit more of it). Possibly use of a light box could do it.

Nonetheless, the PIX is interesting & promotes an individual to speculate on the range of possibilities.

To be overly technical, circles are two-dimensional while the implied circles above are three dimensional. An analogy would be that the debris floating around Saturn are called "rings" rather than circles since they are three dimensional.
However I think that's splitting hairs, I'd weigh in on the side of practicality and say these were circles and as Calr indicated, definitely thinking out of the box.
