Default Nighttime: Bon Odori

The traditional honoring of one's ancestors in Japan is called "Obon" or "Bon" for short. During the evenings dance festivals are also held where participants form a circle around a wooden scaffold and dance to the rhythm of very traditional Japanese folk music. This dance is called Bon Odori. Recently, to attract the younger crowd the music has become far more contemporary with modified pop-hits local and Japanese.
The panorama below attempts to capture a full view of the event and the participants with the scaffold in the center housing musicians and singers.
