Oh, did you ever hit me in two of my senses! Since I firmly believe that pork rules the world of food, I could smell that poor little piggy roasting and could taste its sacrifice. Now, if it were my best friend looking at this photo, she, too, would have reacted physically, but it would have been with nausea because of her violent allergy to pork. She would have tasted something quite different, believe me!

The only thing I might have done with this photo would have been a bit of Photoshop trickery, bringing up the saturation in isolated areas of the ashes to give a greater impression of heat. Yes, I know that, in reality, it needs to be a long and slow roasting, but we don't always have to adhere religiously to reality in our photos. Sometimes, a bit of trickery can actually help more closely represent reality.

I like the diagonal composition, and the way you have carefully positioned the camera to avoid overlapping the pig on background shapes. The photo is enhanced by the woodpile in the background, but still retains good simplicity.

Let us know when it will be ready!

My church used to do this every winter. we would stay up all nite. I can smell the wood smoke and the aroma of roast pig. My mouth waters just thinking opf how it would taste. Too bad we don't have the world wide smell.

Default Side Dishes

Tomsch:

I just had to come back to this image and decide what side dishes I can cook to go with the pork. Then I started to think about left-overs.

Good job,

rod
