![]() ![]() The image of the sailboat, a Bristol Channel Cutter beating up the Choptank River, was scanned from a film print. The chart and rope pendent overlay was scanned directly on the scanner by first placing the rope pendent on the scanner then laying a chart over the pendent. The overlay of the rope/chart image on the sailing image was done in photoshop. At the time, I was just learning how to work with layers. Before, I had a digicam, I used the scanner as a camera to create composite images. T-towels that have a design on them or other cloth materials work great to cover 3-D objects placed on the scanner. A great composite and also a reminder to all of us that the scanner is our other digital camera.

Nice!
You know, you have done in with a photo and scanner what my wife does with paint and brush. She took a chart of the Rappahannock River and painted a sailboat on it with translucent paints. A very similiar idea! |

Art is wonderful, I just wish I could paint or draw. The Chesapeake and its tributaries are magic. Rod |
