After seeing ferny's exercise into macro using an inverted 50mm lens, I decided to try this out also. The hapless subject was my Canon lens cap. I wanted to know what sort of depth of field I could expect.
I used an Olympus Zuiko 50mm inverted (hand held) onto the larger glass of my 100-300mm Canon lens (why not). This photo was taken at full zoom. As you can see...depth of field was aprox 1 mm or less. I will not add this into the wildcard section, because there IS no depth of field!!! |
