If I'm understanding the definations correctly, the high key here has too many shadows. Not just a lighter picture but should be washed out but still interesting.

Yes, basically the two shots are opposites.

On the low key I focused on the sky and the colors came out but the land is dark.

On the high key I focused on the mountains in the background so the land exposure is better but the sky is washed out.

Not a very extreme example but the only one I had that you guys have not seen before. Thanks for taking a look.

Zoomn, these are excellent photographs - the low and high key are very slight but very nice. I can see what you've done. The colors are gorgeous!

Those are beautiful shots. The first one looks like a polarizer was used to accentuate the sky and clouds.
