This shot turned out the way you see it in an unexpected way.

I was skating on ice while I noticed a cute little girl skating with a pink dress.

I took my cam and I shot in SLOW SYNC mode ( a mix of flash and long time expositions ).

When I was at home I started to fiddle with Photoshop trying to recover what was supposed to be a bad shot.

Here it comes :

P.S. :

Layer 0:

- Dominant color correction ( the original shot was totally yellowish )
- Level adjustment
- copy

Layer 1:
- paste of layer 0
- desaturation
- erasing with a soft big brush to reveal the colors of the little girl

Collapse of Layer 0 and 1
- Diffuse Glow , white on black, no noise
- Noise, Dust and Grain ( big radius, little thresold values )
- Local saturation with the sponge tool and a big soft brush over the girl
- Some burning on midtones to rebuild shapes near the legs
